The Ziniels had a wonderful Christmas, but we could have done without all of the snow. We had to cancel our early Christmas plans to Mandan, as the storm started approaching. Then, we got stuck for a short time in Fargo. When we returned home, we were unable to get up the road to our home as the road was unplowed, so 4 men pushed the car back to the neighbor's house where we parked and walked over to our own home. We were finally able to park in our own driveway after the snow plow came yesterday, but still have much shoveling to do (we got about 20 inches during 3 days). The driveway has huge snow drifts that Dennis has been slowly working away at.
Our big news for this week is we have decided on the names for the baby! After much discussion of possibilities, our choices are:
Girl: Trinity Elfreda (because she would be the third child, and Elfreda was Dennis's grandmother's name)
Boy: Rand Edward (After Dennis's 2 uncles, Randy and Edward)
We will be having the 3D imaging ultrasound in a couple of weeks, so more pics to come. We are not finding out the gender though, so you will need to be surprised with us in June!
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

We got to hear the baby's heart beat, which was a fast 151. Old wive's tales say a heart beat over 140 is a girl.
The baby sounded healthy, and it was hard to hear the heart beat at times because he/ she moves A LOT. I have felt much kicking, and at night the baby gets upset if I lay on my right side and tries to maneuver right under my ribs! OUCH! Dennis has not gotten a chance to feel the kicks yet, but the doctor said he should be able to VERY SOON. He was surprised I could feel the movement, until he put the heart monitor on, and then everything became clear. He said the baby was a little "mover", which we saw even in the ultrasound last month.
Dennis and I have chosen a girl's name, but are still up in the air about a boy's name. We would be able to find out the gender at our next visit (our 20 week visit), but have decided to wait.
Things are slowly winding down for the semester, and we hope the next few weeks will allow me to rest, relax, and WRITE :-)
Have a wonderful holiday!

On the 24th, we had our OB appointment. It was very exciting! I was not expecting much, but the baby sure put on a show for the ultrasound. At first, all I could see was the feet kicking around, but the doctor moved the baby a little, and the baby was kicking and waving to us! It was an incredible experience. Sorry the pics are not the greatest. My scanner is not hooked up, so I took pictures of the ultrasound pics.
Other exciting developments . . . well, I have been very ill this week and was switched to a medication with a sedative. This is what occurred with Aurora as well, and we were expecting the switch if I was not better for my next appointment (in about 2 weeks). However, my body started to show signs that I have a growing lesion/ hole in my esophagus, and so the switch was made sooner. They are hoping this new medication will curtail all illness, and that it is just a matter of a couple of weeks before I start to feel better.
We have a big week ahead with Aurora's dance show as well as her program for school. She already had her testing for Tae Kwon Do and now is a yellow stripe belt.
My Christmas cards should be arriving soon! I hope everyone enjoys a festive holiday!
